When you use Simmer, we may collect the following information:
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
- Profile information: phone number and date of birth (optional, provided by you)
- Payment information: processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store your full card details
- Event data: ticket purchases, table assignments, and waitlist entries
- Communications preferences: whether you opted in to receive marketing emails and texts
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process ticket purchases and refunds
- Coordinate dinner events (table assignments, communications with coordinators)
- Send transactional emails (ticket confirmations, event updates, waitlist notifications)
- Send marketing communications if you opted in (upcoming dinners, updates)
- Improve the Service and user experience
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Simmer:
- Supabase — database hosting and storage
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
- Twilio — SMS notifications
- Vercel — application hosting
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance (e.g., payment records).

- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and personal data
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time

6. Communications Consent
During signup, you may opt in to receive marketing emails and SMS messages about upcoming dinners and updates. This consent is entirely optional and does not affect your ability to use Simmer.
You can opt out at any time by emailing support@simmer.app or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Standard message and data rates may apply to SMS communications.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Simmer currently uses minimal cookies — primarily an authentication cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
8. Children's Privacy
Simmer is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of Simmer after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
